Flair Airlines purchases NewLeaf

BC-based charter airline Flair Airlines Ltd. has purchased the assets of NewLeaf, the low-cost carrier for which Flair provides aircraft and crew.

While details are yet to be released, expansion is planned for new destinations beginning this year, Flair said in a press statement, dubbing itself "Canada's third national airline" following the acquisition of NewLeaf.

NewLeaf, which opted to skirt the travel agent community by selling direct to consumers, officially launched last July after a false start earlier in the year, pending a federal government ruling on legislation regarding licences and responsibilities of airfare resellers.
