Year-over-year passenger growth was up 8.8 per cent at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport during the second quarter of 2017, marking another strong quarter for the facility.
The statistic marks 14 consecutive months of positive passenger growth at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, according to the Winnipeg Airports Authority.
Consolidated revenue was $30.4 million for the second quarter, compared to $28 million for the same period in 2016. Earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes were $15.2 million, compared to $14 million for the same period in 2016.
These results bring WAA a step closer to being in a break-even financial position since opening the new terminal in October 2011, the organization said.
Passenger growth is expected to continue over the summer, as thousands of visitors arrive in the city for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, taking place July 29 to Aug. 13.
