Tourism New Zealand launches updated agent specialist program

Tourism New Zealand has launched an updated training program that aims to turn travel agents into New Zealand experts.

The 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist Program offers travel pros an opprotunity to build in-depth destination knowledge and in turn, grow their New Zealand sales.

The program, a collection of online training modules, webinars, and informative videos, lets travel agents learn about New Zealand’s diverse regions and the variety of experiences available to tourists.

The newly-tiered program rewards long-term and continually engaged specialists with incentives such as FAM opportunities, direct referrals, merchandise and access to in-market events.

The status tiers are broken out and achieved by:

• Gold – Completing 10 online modules, attending one training session and visiting New Zealand.

• Silver – Completing 10 online modules and attending one training session.

• Bronze – Completing 10 online modules.

Status is maintained through regular engagement with both the online modules and training sessions, via a webinar or in-country event.

Travel agents will now also be listed on newzealand.com preferentially by tier.

Additional changes include a more user friendly interface and a personal dashboard, Totara, to help agents track progress with online accounts.

Tourism New Zealand holds monthly webinars to keep agents updated on new product, special interests, and regional news.
