YVR sees record number of Latin America arrivals

Vancouver International Airport saw a record-breaking spike in travel to and from Latin America during the first half of 2017, with 418,000 travellers representing a 25.2 per cent year-over-year increase.

According to YVR, the lifting of tourist visa requirements for Mexican visitors has led to strong growth in that market.

During the first six months of 2017, the airport saw a 13.5 per cent increase in international traffic, along with a 5.2 per cent increase in Domestic traffic and a 9.5 per cent increase in transborder traffic.
