Tropical Storm Lidia hits Los Cabos

As predicted, Tropical Storm Lidia hit Los Cabos, Mexico Thursday (Aug. 31), triggering a series of heavy floods, mudslides, and strong winds.

According to CBS News, approximately 1,400 people sought refuge from the storm. At least five people were killed by the storm in Baja over the weekend.

CBS News also reports that Mexico City's airport was closed briefly due to flooding, and that in the city's downtown, a sinkhole about 30 feet in diameter appeared on one of the streets.
